TOP-10 of business advisors

Information agency Credinform has prepared a ranking of the Russian companies engaged in business consulting. The largest enterprises (TOP-10 and TOP-100) in terms of annual revenue were selected according to the data from the Statistical Register and the Federal Tax Service for the available periods (2018-2020). Then the companies were ranged by net profit ratio (Table 1). The selection and analysis were based on the data from the Information and Analytical system Globas.

Net profit ratio (%) is calculated as a ratio of net profit (loss) to sales revenue. The ratio reflects the company’s level of sales profit.

The ratio doesn’t have the standard value. It is recommended to compare the companies within the industry or the change of a ratio in time for a certain company. The negative value of the ratio indicates about net loss. The higher is the ratio value, the better the company operates.

For the most full and fair opinion about the company’s financial position the whole set of financial indicators and ratios should be taken into account.

growth of indicator in comparison with prior period, decline of indicator in comparison with prior period

In 2020, the average value of net profit ratio of TOP-10 and TOP-100 companies is significantly lower than the average industry value. In 2020 and 2019, two companies had negative results. In 2020, four companies reduced the results, while in 2019, the decline was observed in five companies. At the same time, eight companies showed the increase in revenue and four companies demonstrated the increase in net profit.

The TOP-10 revenue increased by more than 39%, the TOP-100 revenue - by more than 11%, however, the industry average ratio showed the decrease by 2%.

The average TOP-10, TOP-100 profit and the average industry profit double increased.

In general, for the last five years the average industry indicators of net profit ratio grew within three periods. The ratio showed the best result in 2020 and the worst in 2017 (Picture 1).
