Licenses for creation of databases are canceled

Licensing of the production of audiovisual works, computer programs, databases and phonograms on any media was canceled by the Federal Law №148-FZ from June 17, 2019. Corresponding amendments were made to the Federal Law «On licensing certain types of activities».

Licenses issued until June 28, 2019, i.e. the effective date of the law, terminate.

According to the Information and Analytical system Globas, currently there are almost 130 000 active companies in Russia engaged in the development of computer software, consulting and related services in this area.

The register of licenses for the production of copies of audiovisual works, programs for electronic computers (computer programs), databases and phonograms on any types of media of the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) contains 375 records about legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.
